The SocialChorus Influencer Relationship Marketing (IRM) platform gives brands and agencies the ability to connect with influencers at scale in authentic ways to drive real marketing results. We replace the tedious manual process of agencies and pr reps with an automated infrastructure that enables mass outreach, connections and relationship building. Our platform also allows brands to own these relationships as well as measure the actual ROI and real-time results unlike traditional public relations and influencers marketing programs.

Why did you start this company?

The company is a result of the merger of Halogen Media Group and YouCast Corporation. The experience of managing over 200 global influencer activation campaigns manually empowered Halogen/ YouCast to develop the technology to automate the IRM process and rebrand as SocialChorus.

Was your company started on a shoestring budget or funded?

The Company’s lead investor is Kohlberg Ventures.

Who is your competition, and what do you do better?

We’ve been compared to Klout, Dynamic Signal, and Peer Index – they are all doing great things in the industry but currently they are measuring broad influence on a range of topics and they often only allow the brands/clients to rent the relationship. Competitors provide scores based on broad terms to run one off programs.

SocialChorus provides the ability to connect brands to influencers directly and OWN the relationship. This allows brands and agencies to run their own IRM programs on a very large scale. This technology will end the days of manually managing influencers, and will deliver the engagement, scale, and efficiency that brands need to succeed. Plus, the platform provides the ability to automatically track influencer participation, and provides accurate and precise real-time analytics. The Social Chorus IRM platform delivers a unique specific Brand Influencer Scorefor influencers participating in the campaign, and shows the value of an individual influencer to a brand. We drill down and provide scores based on specific results for the brand to allow them to build relationships and understand the value of these relationships. We believe brands should own not rent. What this means is that we provide the ability for brands to connect directly to the influencer and build and maintain authentic relationships with them. We allow them to grow and nurture these relationships, and activate them from one campaign to the next.

Why would a small business, entrepreneur, freelancer, etc. use your product?

Currently over 20 fortune 500 brands and agencies are signed on to use the platform. We expect small businesses and entrepreneurs to adapt to the technology in the near future, as influencer marketing becomes one of the most important marketing channels available.

How could you effectively use these tools?

When it comes to running IRM campaigns, brands/clients are only limited by their creativity. We believe that the best way to use SocialChorus’ IRM technology is to incorporate influencer and social marketing strategy into the overall brand marketing campaign. Next,plan a campaign that incorporates social currency to entice influencers to participate. This can include relevant media, access, experiences, and other high-value content, as well as product samples, prizes, cash and more. The next step is to find influencers and superfans- this can be done through existing relationships (PR, and owned social networks) as well as an additional service that we provide to help brands/clients find influencers. Then the fun part begins! Upload brand content and contacts to the platform and get started. Influencers will then opt-in to the program and start to share content and assets through their networks. The brand/client will then be able to see the results, ROI, and Earned Marketing Value (EMV) for the campaign as it unfolds before their eyes. EMV is marketing value that is created and earned through social sharing and trackable social actions. EMV can be created as a stand-alone marketing program or can work in conjunction with a brand’s paid and owned media efforts. We use industry standards to value social actions. Our Platform also allows clients to assign their own values to aspects of the campaign, i.e.worth of a Facebook Fan acquisition or blog post. We’re in business to automate and track, not debate media values. Lastly, the brand/client will learn from the results, and will optimizethisnewfound knowledgein order to repeat the process with an active influencer network.

SocialChorus’ IRM software beta launched in February 2012, and is available along with strategic IRM and activation services to give brands the simplicity, speed, and efficiency needed to build enduring social relationships at global scale. SocialChorus was founded by Gregory Shove, CEO, and co-founders John Eaton and Jonathan Cohen. Longtime marketing executive Joe Burton joined the company as President in November 2012. At this time, we do not offer free SocialChorus tools but we are considering doing limited free trials in the near future. We do offer offline training for existing clients.

Are there different pricing levels?

Yes. We currently offer products with annual licenses of $20k, $50k, $250k, all with the same level of robust functionality, but with increasing levels of campaign activity included. We plan to offer a much lower priced model for the SMB market in September, with an entry level of campaign activity.

How long have you been in business?

SocialChorus launched in February 2012 but is the culmination of Halogen Media Group and YouCast Corporation who have been in the influencer marketing space for 4 years.

SocialChorus currently has contracts with over 20 Fortune 500 brands and agencies to use the IRM platform. SocialChorus also has established relationships with over 20,000 power-middle influencers. SocialChorus expects over 60 more brands to sign on for the platform by year end.

The SocialChorus IRM platform has a wide range of IRM functionality, and has a robust road map of additional features that will continue to roll out every few months. We expect that within the next five years every brand willhave a brand influencer network.

How many employees do you currently have working with you and/or freelance contractors?

Currently SocialChorus employs 60+ social media mavens split between New York City and San Francisco. Our goal is to double our staff by the end of the year.
