Improve Your Meeting Minutes with LessMeeting

Improve Your Meeting Minutes with LessMeetingWhat is the name of your business and URL?

LessMeeting – www.lessmeeting.com

A brief synopsis of the website / application (explain it to a 5 year old)?

LessMeeting makes it easy for you & your team to have better meetings. Best practices are built right into the tool so you start following them without even noticing. What’s that mean?

Run Better Meetings

  • Always have a plan/agenda before your meeting starts
  • Helps you time your meetings effectively (Not all meetings should be 60 minutes!)
  • Integrates with Google Apps/Gmail & Outlook – Tools you’re already using to schedule your meetings

Take Better Notes

  • Super easy to take notes so you can spend time talking & not writing
  • Real-time collaborative note taking (just like Google Docs)
  • Track actions, KPIs, etc across meetings (e.g. your daily standup meeting)

Save Time Following Up

  • Notes are sent to all attendees automatically right when the meeting ends
  • Centralized location to track tasks & decisions across all your meetings
  • Task sync with Google & Outlook

Make Your Whole Team’s Meetings Better

  • Dedicated team page to let PMs find out what your team is meeting about
  • Find out common things your teams are doing wrong (e.g. always starting & ending meetings late)

Why did you start this company?

We’re all ex-Technology Consultants who’ve sat through thousands of terribly run meetings over the years. We first built this to help make our meetings better and later found that others wanted to use it too. We continue to use this with our consulting clients, which helps us constantly make improvements.

Was your company started on a shoestring budget or funded?

Fully shoestring/bootstrapped.We have not received any outside funding and don’t have any current plans to do so.

Who is your competition, and what do you do better?

A number of competitors have popped up in this new market over the past couple years. We wrote a well-received blog that actually talks about the growth of the industry & who the players are: http://blog.lessmeeting.com/2011/09/were-not-alone-new-startups-agree-that.html.

Each competitor has its pros and cons. We differentiate by having a great product, the ton of integration points (e.g. Outlook, Google), and most importantly outstanding customer service.

Of note, we are not directly competing with products like WebEx &GoTo Meeting. Once point we want to get across to customers is that you can (and should) use LessMeetingwith virtual meeting software.

Improve Your Meeting Minutes with LessMeetingWhy would a small business, entrepreneur, freelancer, etc use your product?

Anyone who has meetings on a regular basis, regardless of the size of your company, would find LessMeeting useful. We all have a very limited amount of free time and need to make sure every minute in meetings is not wasted – LessMeeting makes sure that doesn’t happen.

In particular a freelancer, entrepreneur, etc would especially benefit from LessMeeting because of the impression it gives to your clients. By using LessMeeting you show your clients that you’re organized, you take their work seriously, and very dependable in tracking tasks through to completion.

Do you offer free online or offline tools?

One of the coolest features is that LessMeeting works offline too. We understand that many times you’ll be in a meeting and won’t have an internet connection, so it’s important that LessMeeting works at these times too.

We’ve also build a custom Outlook plugin that’s free. The plugin automatically syncs all your meetings from Outlook right to LessMeeting, so you don’t have to do any additional setup to start running meetings.

Are there different pricing levels?

There’s only a single pricing level – keep it simple, right? In addition we offer discounts based on volume as well as length of purchase.

Do you have a blog that keeps users updated?

We post new updates to our blog at least once a week: http://blog.lessmeeting.com/. In it we talk about not only LessMeeting, but also ways to make meetings better in general. This includes links and responses to other articles we see that we think our followers will be interested in.

How do you see your company in the next 2-5 years (more products or services?)
