We are currently accepting pre-orders. We launch March 1st worldwide.

What came about that made them help in social change? Why was this social venture created?

We created Meddy Teddy because we wanted to bring mediation and yoga into as many young peoples life’s as we could. It has been well documented that a simple practice can have huge long-term benefits in stress reduction. What simpler way than a cute teddy bear to remind families to get together and have a fun practice?

How To Bring Mediation And Yoga Into Your Life The Fun WayWhat free online or offline tools do you use?

Well we built the site using Shopify, that is not free but has an incredible backend for tracking orders.

Free tools we use are Google analytics and mail chimp. Mail Chimp is an email campaign manager, which is free up to I believe 2,000 subscribers.

We use o-Desk to outsource anything we need done. We use HARO(Help A Reporter Out) for pr. We bootstrap most of the time with everything we can. Bootstrap is an entrepreneurial term meaning “save as much money as possible”

How many people are currently working, including employees (freelancers or independent contractors for specific projects)?

We have 3 employees right now. All 3 of us are brothers. I’m 28, my older brother Thom is 32 and my younger brother Mike is 26. We use o-Desk a lot. For anything from hiring someone to find 100 blogs in our niche to having someone tweak html we use o-Desk.

Do you tweet, facebook fan page, myspace friend or use any other social media to get the word out?

We believe facebook is an invaluable tool for marketing. But it has to be for the right business. Some companies don’t work so well on facebook because no one really cares. We use a lot because all of their projects are just 5 bucks. You could get 1,000 facebook fans added to your facebook page for just 5 bucks among many other cool jobs, did I mention it is 5 bucks.

How To Bring Mediation And Yoga Into Your Life The Fun WayWhat is the one thing that you did right?

Learning how to go into deep relaxation and program my subconscious mind to see success in everything.

Are you doing any type of Search Engine Optimization?

We are focusing a lot of effort into SEO. One great thing we are doing is commenting on this blog that you are reading. By taking the time to write great content and offer information you get to post a link back to your site. Thus this creates “link juice”, link juice is very important to search engines. When Google sees your link starting to pop up one different sites across the web they start to increase your rank and your keywords start to gain more relevance in everyday searches.

Our keywords our: Meditation, Yoga, Kids Yoga, Teddy Bear, and Yoga Apparel. So the more we get link juice, the more our keywords gain importance.

What can you tell other potential social entrepreneurs who are deciding to make a difference?

Make a change in your self first. Napoleon Hill calls it a “burning desire”. Are you willing to have the patience for your manifestation to grow and become what it needs to become?

I like to think about it like this. You have 2 points. A and B. Say your trying to create a company from scratch, and it is something that you have a burning desire to do.Point B is where you want to go but point A is your where you are and your fears about getting to B. At first point A will be 10 times larger than point B. Point B is where you want to be but it is very small and new to your subconscious mind. So the more you focus on B like it’s already done and you’re happy while doing it and not really giving point A any of your attention, point B will get bigger and bigger until it manifests into your reality.

Making a change inside yourself can change the world. I like to spend the first hour of everyday on myself. I call it the “Power Hour”. It does not matter what I am doing as long as it is bettering myself. I may learn XHTML or study music or maybe something spiritual. Whatever it is, the first hour is to myself.

What book(s) have you read that others should read?

The 4 Hour Workweek by Tim Ferris was a great book. And the Lean Start Up by Eric Ries is also very highly recommended. Seth Godin’sblog is a must for everyday reading is also a great source of information.
