The building blocks are simple enough. A small business connects their social networks (Facebook, Google+, Twitter, LinkedIn, Blogger, WordPress, and Tumblr). They then create stand-alone web pages called ‘Braggits’ with their news/updates/deals/etc. With a few simple steps the Braggits are created and posted to their connected social accounts.

BizBrag has gone out of their way to make the platform as easy to use as possible, with the theme being that users should not have to leave their BizBrag dashboard. Social monitoring, SEO, reviews, lead generation, e-mail marketing, and analytics are just a few of the features baked into every account.

Why did you start this company?

We’re all serial entrepreneurs, and we saw a need for a simple social platform. Business owners HAVE to have a web presence, but often don’t have the time to devote to each social network, SEO, etc. Now, they can handle everything from one central location. Because of our team’s diverse business background, we have ensured that BizBrag can benefit any small business owner in any industry.

Was your company started on a shoestring budget or funded?

We raised a small amount of initial private capital.

Who is your competition, and what do you do better?

There are many companies these days that are trying to offer a social solution. Many smaller startups are cropping up with different ideas, and larger companies like SalesForce and ConstantContact have recently announced their own entries into the market. Each of these offerings seems to do one thing really well, whether it’s the social monitoring component, or creating a custom FB landing page, however they all fall short of meeting business owners’ needs in a centralized location, and doing so for a reasonable price.

A few things that make BizBrag better:

  • We have incorporated all of the tools a business needs into our platform. SEO, Social Marketing for all of the popular networks, e-mail marketing, social monitoring, analytics, etc.
  • Our prices are lower than the competition. We offer our entire platform for one low price per account.
  • Every post on BizBrag not only goes to social networks, but it creates it’s own webpage. This has the dual benefit of attracting customers from social networks and being searchable on Google.

How would a business owner use BizBrag?

We offer several version of BizBrag depending on the user:

1. A small business owner on a budget:

Our platform is used as described above. The key to success here is to be willing to write a fair amount of content. Braggits do best when they are an interesting read, or when they offer something (like a deal). Fortunately we allow Braggits to be queued and published at a later date, so a business owner can create several Braggits on a Sunday, and have them publish every other day.

2. A small business owner that simply does not have the time to create content:

We also offer a service to handle everything for the small business owner. All we need is some background information on the business, and any marketing material that has already been created. Our team of social marketing experts and writers will create the content for you and keep your social accounts engaged.

3. A franchise or distributed enterprise organization:

Our platform provides a unique opportunity for these types of companies. A franchise can connect with all of their franchisees, pushing content to their social networks. This gives the franchisor control over the content and a much wider social reach, and gives the franchisee an active social presence with minimal effort. This model can also be applied to enterprise / retailer organizations.

How long have you been in business?

We started working on BizBrag a little over a year ago. We have been out of beta for six months now.

Number of current users?

We currently have just over 600 registered companies bragging on our platform.

How do you see your company in the next 2-5 years (more products or services?)

We’re going to keep building great features into our platform while concentrating on making it easy to use for our small businesses. Our biggest challenge right now is that our list of ideas far exceeds the time we have to build them in, but we think that’s a good problem to have!

How many employees do you currently have working with you and/or freelance contractors? Are you looking to hire more people or contractors? If so, what positions and skills are you looking for?

We are currently running with a very small startup team of five people. We are always looking for talented PHP developers, and social media managers with excellent writing skills.

Absolutely, but right now we’re not telling!
