What is your product or service? Information that help women cut through the maze of green living and how to implement that information in their daily lives through ebooks, videos and virtual communications.

Why did you start your company? I lost my mother 2 years ago to breast cancer and I started to look into green living. What I found was frustration and inconvenience. There was some websites and articles I read that actually made me scratch my head as I walked away. They were not speaking to my concerns and my issues. So I thought there had to be a better way. On ladies going green we discuss green issues as they relate to women.

How was it financed? I built the website myself, I currently maintain it myself but I financed hosting and adverting myself.

Date officially launched? May 2011 after a total redesign and September 2011 for our green directory

YouTube – Do you have a YouTube video URL that you can share with us

I am about to start a YouTube channel within the next week. The first video will be a mini training for keywords for PPC ads due to the fact that I have been contact by other businesses regarding the success of my site in a short amount of time. But the majority of videos will cover green solutions to daily life for women.

NONE YET

How many people are currently working, including employees (freelancers or independent contractors for specific projects)? No employees yet but I do have guest writers that help with keeping my content fresh even though right now about 95% of the articles are written by me.

What is the best advice you never got? If you are going to be online than you have to realized that online is fluent and you have to stay flexible so write your business plan in pencil.

What almost killed your business in the start? My site set for about 3 months because after I built it I had to redesign it. I built it for me not my visitors or the businesses I would be working with so I had to do a total redesign. By that time the site was already about 40 pages of articles. It took me a lot of time to re built the site and I could not really upload a single page until the entire site was re design because the new look was so different.

What is the one thing that you did right? I feel the one thing I did right was taking the time to build a site with great content that is easy to navigate, now as we keep adding great information the site flow well.

What was the biggest transition you had to make (i.e. new skill set, habits, abilities, focus)? It was learning how to build a website and search engine optimizing (SEO) with keywords.

Are you currently in the black or red? In the RED but should be in the black within the next few weeks

What type of marketing or advertising do you do? I am staring to do some PPC, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), link building, and using LinkedIn, face book and twitter to connect to eco-friendly people and people that would like to be more eco-friendly.

What would make your business moreSuccessful“? I know in the short term I will consider my business as successful once I get in the black but for long term I want ladies going green to be known as a site that is the place to go for green living information for women and a great place to work.

Would you want to be acquired by a bigger company run it yourself or sell in a couple of years? No

I will like my family to keep it going even after I am gone and as we grow I want to have employees who loves helping and working with women to live a greener life.

What do you think your projected annual revenue will be? I would like ladies going green to be a business that is generating enough income to bring on employees.

How long do you think it will take you to get to your projected annual revenue? I really feel that within another year we will be able to hire a few employees to help us to grow even more.
