Why did you start this company and how is it funded?

Founded in November 2011 by company CEO Randy Bird on a shoestring and self-funded budget, the concept for Giftopia developed from his passion to solve the difficulty he faced with trying to find that perfect gift for the hard to buy for people in his family. He wanted to make it easier for everyone to give and receive gifts that are actually wanted and not only that; to put the fun back in the process! And so, after many hours of planning, coding, testing, coding, testing and more coding and testing; Giftopia was created.

The future prospects for Giftopia are bright. Currently, there are four employees working directly for the company including the President and CEO, Marketing & Sales, Development & Systems and a Community Manager. There has been great response to the site since launch and more users are joining every day. We have set aggressive targets to grow our user base exponentially over the next 1-3 years as well as growing partnerships with small businesses and retailers. We anticipate our growth will come through continued product enhancements and by rolling out integration and functionality that our user base is demanding.
