Siter introduces ‘domain dialing’

What is the name of your business and URL of your APP?

The name of the company is Siter, LLC. The website is www.siter.com. The smartphone app is Siter.

A brief synopsis of the smart phone app:

Siter is a new concept, “domain dialing”. Instead of looking for and dialing phone numbers, you dial the main domain name if the company. For example, to contact Apple, you “dial” Apple.com. The idea is it’s easier to remember a name than to find or to remember a phone number.

Siter also uses geolocation, it adjusts the suggested numbers to call based on wherever you’re located. So if you “dial” Target.com, it gives you all the Target stores closest to wherever you currently are!

Siter is a free app for iPhone, Blackberry and Android and we have more than 25 million domain names in our database.

Siter sponsored the ICANN conference in Singapore earlier in 2011 and also will be sponsoring the upcoming ICANN conference in Senegal. We’re finding at these events that people really like the simple and useful tool.

Why did you start this company?

We began as an ICANN accredited registrar company, and we worked with domain name registrations and one day we had this idea. We got so excited that we sold the former company, Nomer.com, to raise money to invest in this new idea!

We have already indexed more than 25 million phone numbers into the system, and are continuing to grow and expand our system.

Android, iphone, blackberry, or windows?

Siter is available for free on Android, iPhone, and Blackberry apps, and we have plans to release Windows and Java apps soon.

Was your company started on a shoestring budget or funded?

The company was funded. We sold the former company to invest in this new idea. We have already invested $2 million in the project, and two venture capital companies have already offered to invest in our company. We ended talks with both of the companies because we would like to partner with VC companies with a portfolio that will add value to our unique “domain dialing” concept.

Who is your competition, and what do you do better?

There is no competition, as only Siter provides domain dialing. The project began with a patent application.

Why would a small business, entrepreneur, freelancer, etc use your product?

Siter is a great free service for their clients. It’s a new and better way to get connected with customers, since it’s always easier to remember a domain name than it is to remember a phone number.

How could you effectively use these tools?

Siter introduces ‘domain dialing’A company can set themselves in the app by visiting Siter.com and inputting their main telephone number into the system.

For retailers, it’s a great way to provide clients and prospective clients with ways to get the right number for your business the first time and every time.

Many businesses pay thousands of dollars for apps that have one primary function — where is the nearest store, and how do I contact them? Here you can simply direct them to look you up on Siter.

We also have security protocols in place to ensure only executives officially connected with a company’s online presence can update the information. Only the owners of storedomainname.com can avail themselves of the free system to make sure storedomainname.com has the latest and greatest information in Siter!

Is this a free app or how much is it?

The app is free and will always be free. It’s free for businesses to update and free for users to download and use.

Are there different pricing levels?
