An Interview with the CEO Leif Hartwig of YourOfficeAnywhere

A brief synopsis of the website / application ?

Our name says it all. Simply speaking, we offer a revolutionary product that lets you take YourOffice…Anywhere! YourOfficeAnywhere (www.yourofficeanywhere.com) gives professionals the most comprehensive suite of online tools that they need to be successful, including web/video conferencing, document storage and sharing, syncing of calendars and contacts, aggregated social networks, live chat and a platform to work together in private online workspaces from anywhere in the world.

Why did you start this company?

As a business coach for many years, I saw a need in the business world that wasn’t being met. The businesses I was working with, needed a way to operate inside and outside their business efficiently from anywhere in the world. I came up with the idea for the company on a napkin in an airport, and haven’t looked back since. We are currently in the biggest technology revolution in over 20 years and businesses are transitioning quickly to using the cloud because it gives them mobility, flexibility and makes their processes more efficient. Because of this change, we have seen the need for a product like ours more than ever before.

Who is your competition, and what do you do better?

There are a number of players in our field, but none of them offer as complete of a website as we do.

Single solutions are available for web/video conferencing, such as GoToMeeting or WebEX. However, these services provide exclusively web/video conferencing, making it necessary for businesses to look elsewhere for additional products and requiring them to be billed by multiple companies for the same services that YourOfficeAnywhere provides in one product. They are also significantly more expensive than YourOfficeAnywhere, with both starting at $49 a month.

Other competitors of YourOfficeAnywhere offer multiple solution products. These playersinclude Microsoft 365 and Google Apps.Microsoft 365 was just released July 1, 2011 and has already received poor reviews regarding the extensive setup timeanddifficulty of navigating through the different screens. Google Apps is another great competitor, but they offer multiple add-ons with limited features, such as only one-on-one video chat and no option to do larger video conferences. In my experience as a business coach, I have found that business owners are confused with the amount of options being offered. With these other solutions, there is a long decision process to determine what their employees need, combined with the laborious task of loading and installing programs onto everyone’s computer.

YourOfficeAnywherehas made it easy. Our solution provides businesses with a cloud based solution thatrequires no IT setup, integration or installation and all features are included in the low price of $10 per month, per user.Transition time is fast and because of the familiarity with our services, there is virtually no learning curve. It issimply an affordableone-click solution that when used as your web browser homepage, takes nothing more than a username and password to access.

How long have you been in business?

We began development and launched 5050BIZ, our beta software test, in 2009. After having much success and receiving many great suggestions we decided to continue developing the product. While development progressed, the market changed and we decided to design a new product to meet the market needs today. So, after careful market research, we are excited tointroduce our new product, YourOfficeAnywhere in August 2011.

Why would a small business, entrepreneur, freelancer, etc use your product?

Most small businesses do not know that the PC is close to being obsolete. To stay competitive in today’s market, they need to adopt cloud software.

Our product was designed for small businesses, entrepreneurs and work from home employees to give them the ability to take their office into the cloud, making it accessible from anywherewhile dramatically lowering their IT costs. By doing this, we have made it easier to stay connected and collaborate with customers and team. All that is needed is an internet connection, making their office accessible anytime/anywhere and requiring no IT infrastructure or support to setup and use.

Large companies have spent years investing thousands of dollars, if not millions, setting up their own system just like ours. We wanted to give small businesses the competitive advantage of not needing to invest that capital and still get a leading edge product that can level the playing field so they can use their money elsewhere to help them build their business.

How could you effectively use these tools?

There are thousands of ways to use YourOfficeAnywhere. The most effective way to use this incredible tool is to collaborate with your colleagues and partners. With everyone on the same page, businesses can be more efficient and creative.Managers get a bird’s eye view so they can see what is going on in their office daily, even when they are not able to be in the office physically. This is great to help motivate teams to boast about accomplishments and keep everyone updated on the status of projects.

Another important feature is the web/video conferencing, which is very important for small businesses and entrepreneurs. By using this feature, they can reduce travel expenses and connect with their customers in a more dynamic way than before. For work from home employees, this feature is great too that allows them to feel a part of the office, even when they are working remotely. Video is becoming much more prevalent on the internet and being used by small businesses to reach new and existing customers in new ways than ever before. Our product lets them do that, while managing their business at the same time.

How do you see your company in the next 2-5 years (more products or services?)

I heard a great quote from Steve Jobs about cloud computing, and that is that as a result of cloud computing, the PC is becoming like the VCR. The cloud computing market is moving quickly and soon everything will be stored online instead of on a desktop computer.

In 2-5 years, the business world will have changed over to putting almost everything in the cloud and the PC will become almost obsolete. It is our goal to be the leader in cloud computing for small businesses. We also see ourselves expanding overseas to international markets. The product we built is dynamic letting us continue developing it quickly along with the needs of the market, consistently giving our users only the best in cloud technology.
