What is the name of your business and URL?

SellRex Corporation,

What is SellRex? What does it do?

It can even sell event tickets. The system can also serve as a simple content management system if not selling products, allowing one to build a website for almost any advertising or marketing purpose.

Why did you start this company?

We wanted to create a webstore that was targeted directly to the needs of new small business merchants, and we wanted to be able to offer the software at a price low enough to help new merchants succeed in business.

Who is your competition, and what do you do better?

The competition in the hosted webstore arena is extensive. We posted an eCommerce Shopping Cart Comparison, which shows just how many software packages there are out there for building a hosted webstore. The best thing about SellRex is that is it truly feature-rich and very low cost for the new small business merchant. SellRex features beat the competition at our price point – We’re the best.

Why would a small business entrepreneur use SellRex?

It really comes down to the cost for those starting a new business. Many small businesses fail because the cost of doing business exceeds what they can generate in revenue in the first year or two. SellRex changes that on the eCommerce costs for a start-up. There is no setup fee, no long-term contract, 90-days of free use, and merchants only pay $9.95 per month. Given the excellent feature set and low price, SellRex is the perfect platform for launching a small business webstore.

How can a merchant effectively use SellRex?

The best way to use SellRex is to load all of the company products, albums, or events into the system. Select a layout from the many available and customize the theme of the webstore. Begin promoting the webstore in TV, radio, print, and online advertising.

The support area of the SellRex Corporation website contains a section to guide new SellRex users in setting up their new website or webstore. Support also includes tutorials for common tasks, such as obtaining a domain name through GoDaddy and obtaining a Google Checkout account for merchants. There is also a full user guide for SellRex.

How much does SellRex cost?

After the initial 90-day free period, the price is just $9.95/month charged through Google Checkout. There is no long-term contract, no additional or hidden fees, and the merchant can cancel anytime. Google Checkout fees are standard credit card processing fees, currently $0.30/transaction and 1.9%-2.9% of each sale depending on monthly sales volume (+1% on international orders). There are no markups to Google fees by SellRex, and Google fees are simply deducted from the transactions as the orders are placed. There are no required deposits, statement fees, security fees, or other fees to use Google Checkout. SellRex and Google offer a wonderful, low cost system for small business merchants.

How do you keep your customers updated?

We keep our merchants updated through our Facebook page, Twitter account, and YouTube Channel:

YouTube Channel:

How long have you been in business?

The company officially went into business in March of 2010 with a beta release in September of 2010 and a final release in March of 2011.

What is your estimated yearly growth?

Because SellRex is the least expensive feature-rich eCommerce webstore solution on the Internet, we expect rapid growth. We plan to run TV commercials late this year, and wide knowledge of SellRex will spawn many new users of the software. We are also getting referrals from our first few webstore merchants, and that is expected to increase rapidly over the next twelve months.

How do you see your company in the next 2-5 years (more products or services?)

We expect to refine and further expand the feature set of SellRex to make it even easier for new merchants to get their businesses online. We might launch a commercial art service to help new merchants with their logo, banner, and graphics needs. This is an area where many merchants need a little help.
